Old Gulph

Wayne, PA

Located along the wooded corridor of Old Gulph Road, this project transforms a traditional stone home through a bold yet carefully scaled modern addition. The scope included rebuilding the existing two-car garage and expanding the home’s footprint to introduce new functional spaces tailored to contemporary living.

The reconstructed two-car garage forms the base of a striking modern volume clad in black standing-seam metal. Defined by crisp lines, vertical panels, and expansive glazing, the addition offers a clear contemporary contrast to the original stone house while remaining carefully proportioned and integrated.

Behind and above the garage, the expanded footprint introduces a new mudroom entry, a renovated bathroom with a walk-in shower framed by wooded views, a walk-in closet, and dedicated office spaces. Warm wood millwork and custom built-ins soften the modern shell, creating interiors that feel both refined and livable.
